What is interesting is that the most reliable way to make money from the gold rush was probably the people who sold supplies to the miners. Levi-Strauss for example. But you should really read some books on the Gold Rush. There are quite a few. Asking questions on Yahoo is not a reliable way to do a research paper. Get yourself to the library!
