I think he's high on draft boards because of his size (6-6, 290 pounds) allows him to play as a defensive end or inside on some passing downs (he did this a lot in college at Nebraska). Most scouts seem to think he can play in either the 3-4 or 4-3 defense and is a prototypical defensive end (whatever that means) in the 3-4. His workouts have been good, his interviews have been equally good. He's a 3 year starter in college (not a 1 year wonder) and he's got a motor that just never stops. If he ends up in SF, I hope he surprises you. I like Carriker a lot. I have never heard about him until about a month ago, and I really just don't like him. They are my team so I would like to see them get an Alan Branch or Amobi Okoye.
