They should be better with the moves they have made, but will they be able to compete with the best teams in the league yet? They always get smoked by the good teams. I’m with on this, ofcourse I want the 9ers to win but it all depends on if Alex Smith can get better. Sometimes I like what I see from him, but sometimes I do not know. The division is weak, so if they can improve on last year they should compete, I looked at the schedule and it is an easier one. Realistically if they go .500 I will be happy, if they do better then thats gravy, but I cannot expect much until I see a little more consistency on both sides of the ball. I think they will be drafting defensive line and wide reciever with the early round picks, and linebackers and o lineman later in the draft.

our D still needs fixing and we still need a WR. im hearing the 9ers will take patrick willis with the 11th pick which is fine by me. he is a great LBer and arguably the best defensive player in the entire draft. 2nd round we can go for WR, either jason hill or sidney rice. we should be right up there for the division crown. we swept seattle last year, we can do it again this year. we can beat the rams. cards have had our number but we can sweep them too.

they will make the playoffs (probably) as a wild card. they can be first in the division and probably will be.

  4. Why Not! says:

I think the 9ers stand a decent chance at going 9-7/10-6 but realistically it will probably be 7-9/8-8 but making the playoffs next year.

They will draft heavy on D and maybe picking up a WR and an OL……

    Go 9ers…..

too much competition in their division and not a great free agency signing as for the draft the best there is at the time cause they’ll have to many young players to be great this year look forward to 7-9 season no playoffs a coach firing. and a better free agency signing next season.

Although the 49ers appear to be on the rise, there are still a lot of holes to fill and personnel changes to be made on defense. The offense could use another playmaker who can prevent defenses from focusing on Frank Gore and Vernon Davis and Alex Smith needs to become more consistent. In the draft, look for the 49ers to pick one of two CBs to upgrade their erratic secondary. They will either choose, Michigan’s Leon Hall, who was very productive in college and has great instincts, or Aaron Ross of Texas, who is a tall (6′1″), athletic corner that is explosive. Either one of these guys should start from day one. In the later rounds they can concentrate on a pass-rushing LB, since the team plans to shift to a 3-4 defense. ILB David Harris of Michigan comes to mind. Then a back-up WR should be choosen to compete with Antonio Bryant, Johnnie Lee Higgins of UTEP is a possibility. All of these selections will improve the team and get them a possible playoff spot. Go ‘9ers!

they will make the playoffs as a wild card although it is possible to win the division.
