What are good seats in Candlestick Park for a 49er game?

CJK asked:

Taking my boyfriend on a trip to San Fran for the Jets/49er game and I’m wondering if anyone has opinions on good sections to sit in. I’m willing to spend between $100-150 per ticket. Since every field is different, I’d love some advice from locals. Thanks!

get as close to the 50 yard line as you can. (mid-field)
gold section is too expensive -pink section is too far away.

    Finally! A Niner question! :p

My family and I have had Niners season tickets for 30 years now. We were in Lower Reserved Section 2 for the first 27. It was great, but because it was so far into the endzone, it was tough to see the goal line stands on the other side of the field.

Three years ago, we moved over to Lower Reserved Section 28. It is much more centered and we have a better time. You can see both sides of the field, and it is great.

Just some quick thoughts about the ‘Stick:

    Sections to avoid:
Avoid Lower Reserved Section 19 at any cost. When they pull out the bleacher seats for every game, you get an obstructed view. I dont know about you, but when I watch my football, I want to see football, not bleachers. It is a terrible set up they have out there. You can really only see half the field from that part of the stadium.

Avoid Upper Reserved and Upper Box Sections 38-55. It is a pain to not see the scoreboard. When you are out at Candlestick, the scoreboard is right below these sections. If you can’t see the scoreboard, you get no access to replays, and it is nearly impossible to see the tiny scoreboard on the other side.

    Things to keep in mind:
Obviously, being at mid-field is the best. You get a great view at both sides of the field. However, mid-field is also more expensive. From where we are, at 28, the price is reasonable. If you move two sections closer to mid-field, though, the price goes from $80 to near $100.

Also, with football, being high is better. The upper deck is the best place to be, if you dont mind the weather. In San Francisco, it isn’t the sun and heat that will get you. It is the cold, the wind, and the rain.

Here are some links you can go to, if you are interested. Both from the Niner team website.

Here is a PDF of the stadium. You can get an idea of what I am talking about the stadium from here.

And this down here is very interesting. It is a 3D picture of the stadium. You can click any section in the park and it will show you exactly how the view is from there. That is how we picked our seats at section 28.
