the 49ers went from digging a hole through the earth with a toothpick, to digging a hole through the earth with a shovel…its an improvement, but it doesnt really matter either way. they need better players…
Yeah. I don’t think they’ll make the playoffs. But they’ll do better.
Gore is a good running back, and Hill might be a good QB.

My little prediction Kitna gets Dumped in Detroit and ends up in SanFran.
I think that Martz will help expand the playbook a bit, but don’t expect the Niners to have an explosive offense next season. Still too many questions about the QB and WR situation. No to mention that they’ll need to find some OL help as well. While I don’t think they’ll make playoffs, might make it interesting.
Remember Weinke was your starter at the end of the season last year.
You can’t expect miracles from Martz but the will make huge gains as long as the front office picks up some quality players. Gore will thrive in his office, Vernon Davis will also see many more passes from check downs. I think the worst position on the team is wide out.
The front office needs a true Flat out play maker at Wide out.
Shawntee and Clements make the cb spot solid but there are way too many about questionable spots on the defense.
Young, yet productive was an every down player and he retired this year.
I think this teams needs a three year Plan and it needs it this off season.
As a Rams fan, a sworn enemy of the 49ers, I think you guys have made a good move here. Martz will really open things up for your offense. You do need some better receivers, though. Good luck next year, it will make the two meetings that much more exciting (although how exciting can a 3-13 vs 5-11 matchup be?).
