Mark M asked:
I know some times a draft pick is protected if it is top 3 or something like that. Does that apply for this situation? I would **** for us to lose a top 3 pick for Joe Staley.

STOP ASKING THIS QUESTION
It is true, the Pats own that pick and there is nothing for your team to do about the pick
yes, they do,and will get McFadden********
Yes they do. Notice how this same question is 8 or 9 below yours.
No clause or protection, the 9ers could try to negotiate, the Pats probably wont bite unless its a real sweet deal.
The Pats will trade away this pick for several lower picks and then get good players with all of the picks, rather than take McFadden with a 3 or 4 pick. That’s the way Belicheck works…he’s an evil genius.
yes, its pretty funny how the best team team in the is going to get the 2nd or third pick but we will trade for a good young linebacker
Yeah, and I’m not sure they have any such ’sweet deal’. They’re best trade is Gore, and they won’t trade him. And even if they would, I’m not sure the Patriots are convinced Gore is better than a top 3 pick rookie in the long run…
But yes, 49ers will not have that pick, that’s why you never trade unconditional picks in my opinion…
yes new england does…and they that if mcfandon comes out they want a running back just so noone eles gets him…you know they dont need no running back
