Like the Patriots, when the Patriots return to the slump they were in many years before the 3 super bowl era, no one even cared who they were. BTW, the 49ers still have one of the largest fanbases in the US, they just are hard to find outside of San Fran. They're disappointed, but they still support their team. In fact, I have bets with them when the Niners play my Cowboys.
