The deal was made by the the 49ers coach M. Nolan who at the time had total control of the coaching and Gm duties. He is still going to be the coach, but the team has hired Scot McCloughan to be their new Gm. And to the guy above me, the Patriots lost THEIR first round pick(#32), not the one they received from the 49ers(#7).
